In case you aren’t totally familiar with this fun blanket blog hop, here’s a run down. Each week a new designer is publishing 3 free blanket squares, one low texture, one medium texture, and one high texture. To make a full size blanket, you’ll want to make three of each low texture, two of each medium texture, and one of each high texture. Of course you can also make fewer squares for a smaller blanket. For this CAL, all the designers used WeCrochet Mighty Stitch. This blanket is monochromatic, but Mighty Stitch is available in tons of gorgeous colors so you could pick endless palettes. It’s a beautiful worsted weight with a nice sheen – perfect for a cozy blanket!

Low Texture Square

Hooks 6 mm (US K), or size needed to meet gauge
Other Yarn needle, scissors
Yarn Wecrochet Mighty Stitch, 124 yards, or similar worsted weight yarn
Gauge 4”x 4” = 14 sts by 8 rows in pattern

Special stitch:
Linked hdc-Insert hook into front bar of previous dc,* yo, pull up a loop, insert hook into next st, yo, pull up a loop, yo, pull through all loops on hook.
Linked dc -Insert hook into front bar of previous dc,* yo, pull up a loop, insert hook into next st, yo, pull up a loop, yo, pull through two loops on hook, yo, pull through remaining two loops.
•For initial linked dc of the round, insert hook into the 2nd ch of your ch3, then proceed from *.
Ch 39.
Row 1: Hdc in 2nd st from hook and each st across,turn. <37 hdc>
Row 2: Ch 3, linked dc in each st across, turn.
Row 3: Ch 1, hdc 1, linked hdc in each st across, turn.
Repeat rows 2 –3 until your square measures 9.5” tall, do not fasten off. We will now work a sc border around the edge.
Round 1: Ch 1, sc 36, 3sc in next, rotate 90 degrees, repeat from * to * around, slst to first st to join. <156 sc>
Fasten off, weave in ends, and block to measure 10” x 10” square with your preferred method.
Medium Texture Square
Hooks 5 mm (US H), or size needed to meet gauge
Other Yarn needle, scissors
Yarn Wecrochet Mighty Stitch, 156 yards, or similar worsted weight yarn
Gauge 4”x 4” = 16 sts by 12 rows in pattern

Ch 46.
Row 1: Dc in 3rd st from hook and each st across, turn. <44 dc>
Row 2: Ch 2, dc 1, *fpdc 3, bpdc 3*, repeat from * to * across, dc in final st, turn.
Row 3: Ch 2, dc 1, fpdc 2, *bpdc 3, fpdc 3,* repeat from * to * across, until 5 sts remain, bpdc 3, fpdc 1, dc 1, turn.
Row 4: Ch 2, dc 1, bpdc 2, *fpdc 3, bpdc 3*, repeat from * to * across until 4 sts remain, fpdc 3, bpdc 1, dc 1, turn.
Row 5: Ch 2, dc 1, *bpdc 3, fpdc 3*, repeat from * to * across, dc in final st, turn.
Row 6: Ch 2, dc 1, fpdc 1, *bpdc 3, fpdc 3,* repeat from * to * across, until 6 sts remain, bpdc 3, fpdc 2, dc 1, turn.
Row 7: Ch 2, dc 1, bpdc 1, *fpdc 3, bpdc 3*, repeat from * to * across until 5 sts remain, fpdc 3, bpdc 2, dc 1, turn.
Repeat rows 2 – 7 until your square measures 10” tall. You may end on any row repeat to meet the measurement. Fasten off and weave in ends. Block using desired method.
High Texture Square
Skill Level Intermediate
Hooks 5.5 mm (US I), or size needed to meet gauge
Other Yarn needle, scissors
Yarn Wecrochet Mighty Stitch, 170 yards, or similar worsted weight yarn
Gauge 4”x 4” = 10 sts x 10 rows in *ps, ch 1, sk 1*
Notes:
•Ch 2 at the beginning of a row does not count as a stitch.
•St counts are given in < > where a change occurs
•The 2 ch sp is referred to as a corner throughout the pattern.
•Puff stitches are worked into ch sp throughout.
Puff Stitch: *YO and insert the hook into st, YO again and up a loop* (3 loops on hook), repeat from * to * 3 more times (9 loops on hook), YO and pull through 8 sts, YO and pull through final loop.
